Spiritual vs Mana

It is time for a new "motivational" screenshot with yet another interesting theory. For this one I had to use information I gathered from the very helpful wikia that holds possibly every superpower known in the world.

* Spiritual Force Manipulation *

The most common form of power that we have seen in the InuYasha universe was that of Spiritual Force Manipulation (aka Spiritual Energy),the power to control the energy of one's spiritual essence. This power can influence the force of their own or others spiritual energies. Spiritual force manipulation is a sub-power of Life-Force manipulation, the ability to manipulate the essence of Life, which is present in all living beings throughout the universe. Spiritual Force manipulation is the type of power that is used by powerful priestesses like Kikyo and Kagome, who can use their powers by infusing it into weapons; most commonly the bow and arrow, they can even use it to erect powerful barriers and perform several mystic spells or enchantments to be used for offensive and defensive purposes.

But now that doesn't mean that not even Spiritual Energy can't have a 'rival' as well.

* Mana Manipulation *

The ability to manipulate the blanket of sentient energy that surrounds living and non living things that is used to form magic. Mana is a sub-power of Magical Energy Manipulation, which is a combination of Life-Force Manipulation and Magic.

Much like the ability of Life-Force Manipulation (Spiritual Energy), the user is able to draw the energy from their surroundings. However, the ability of mana relies more on the use of different methods of magic such as spoken incantations and mystic items, like spell books, charms, talismans, weapons, etc. in order to achieve the effects that the user desires.

Unlike spiritual energy, Mana is a sentient source of energy, sympathetic magic, or impersonal force that is always moving from one location to another, seeking material elements or people to inhabit. It is also formed within the soul whenever a creature comes into being. The soul is not necessarily a collection of mana, but the creature itself. When the being dies, the mana returns to the environment waiting to be used again and again. The user can utilize their mana around them into a destructive force or for defensive purposes. Users can also use it as healing in order to repair physical and mental inflictions and can also be able to manifest mana with or around objects or beings in to provide intentional excess mana. The infusion is magically charged. it is temporary, but very effective.

Now, just in my own opinon I do think that the ability for people to use Mana Manipulation in the InuYasha universe isn't a far-fetched idea and infact it's entirely possible but I don't think that a power like Mana manipulation would be suited for Priests and Priestess in Feudal Era Japan. I think that a certain group of people who have/had a different goal and lifestyle opposite to those of  to Priests and Priestesses would have these powers.
